Rooted & Firm

To be rooted and firmly established, this is my desire for 2020. My heart longs for this, not just for myself, but for my husband, our family, our friends and our church.

My prayer is that as this year begins we don’t make resolutions to change habits or gain success, but that instead we develop a zeal to know our Savior Jesus Christ and that this leads us to be rooted and firmly established in His love.

To be rooted is for our roots to grow deeper in the knowledge on love of our Savior and for Him to be our source of life, comfort, joy and direction.

To be firmly established means that we can weather the storms. That when the trials come at our door (because they will come) and temptation comes our way, we can stand firm. We can stand firm in the rock that is Jesus, and continue to flourish and give fruit.

My prayer is that this year, we grow in faith, we grow in living lives worthy of the gospel, we carry ourselves with grace and love others unconditionally. My prayer is that as we truly know our Savior our lives are transformed. As this year continues to be a very difficult one, let’s remember that He is sufficient, He is all we need and His Word has everything we need to live a life for His glory. May He revive our hearts to burn with zeal for His glory and may we be faithful in building His kingdom.

I pray that he may grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with power in your inner being through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. I pray that you, being rooted and firmly established in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the length and width, height and depth of God’s love, and to know Christ’s love that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Ephesians 3:16-19
